Finally an end to a couple of hectic days, Port Talbot Referees contributed to an enjoyable competition for all who attended and also showed teams around the globe how high the standard of refereeing in Wales is currently.
A highlight of the tournament was our very own David Powell wining the “Referee of the Tournament” award.
Very Well Done Dai 👍

It was fantastic to end our season by having FAW Referees Manger and IFAB Sub Committee member Ray Ellingham to explain all 96 new law changes in preparation for the 2016/17 season. The new Laws of the Game is available to download from our resource section, (A quiz is also available). Coaches and Players can view a brief change of the laws of the game here.
After the amazing work done by all society officers all season they were unanimously reinstated to their respective roles. Good turnout from society members who contributed to a great interactive session with Ray.
Finally Congratulations to Alan Gitsham, Rhys Burgess and Matthew John for exceeding the pass mark required to be promoted they just need to complete a fitness test this Saturday to move up to the next grade. Good Luck ALL!
Lets hope we have another Great season next year!
Very good to have 10 referees from our society present us for the SWFA referee’s seminar. Also a very proud moment for the society as our treasurer Mr Ian Bird was guest speaker who gave lots of advice on offside and also gave guidance to the “young kids” about how to move up the refereeing ladder .
Friday 13th May:

18:30 Kick Off
Mr A Gitsham

Business end of the season fast approaching. Congratulations to Ian Bird who has been appointed assistant on the SWFA Senior Cup Final on 22nd March and George Ridgeway is assistant on the SWFA Sunday Intermediate Cup semi final on 3rd April. Finally, Well done to Warren Lovell on his good assessment yesterday. Good luck to all.
Our monthly referee society meeting took place earlier on tonight where we discussed all about the discipline procedure for the South Wales Football Association. We were very lucky to have the Discipline Secretary Geoff Buckingham to talk us through the procedure. As a gesture of our appreciation of Geoff spending his Monday night with us, we were glad to have our President Mr J.P Morgan (Left) give Mr Buckingham (Right) our new society tie.
